The useful part of a directory is knowing where its certainty ends. This guide makes its evidence and coverage visible so you can judge what to check next.
Research dates are not live checks.
A source check date records when the research was retrieved. It is not a promise that a shop is open today, that a specific item is available or that a price remains unchanged.
Each place page links to its own evidence. The Sources & coverage page explains which source groups were checked, what the current selection covers and which kinds of information are absent.
An area photograph is a sense of place.
Destination images retain a capture date and a linked credit. They show the neighbourhood or exact entity identified in the caption; they do not prove a particular storefront is operating today.
Photograph reuse permission is checked separately from factual listing research. A source website being public does not give us permission to reuse its photographs.
Pop-ups need a clock.
A dated event needs an official source, an exact location and a start and end period. An ended event is marked ended; an undated announcement is not presented as current.
If no verified events are listed, the empty state says so. You can still browse permanent place records or send an official event announcement for review.
